ODTÜ Eşli Danslar Topluluğu (EDT) tarafından her yıl Cumhuriyet Haftası etkinlikleri kapsamında düzenlenen, ülkemizin en büyük ve en prestijli dans sporu etkinliği olan Uluslararası ODTÜ Cumhuriyet Kupası'nın on yedincisi; bu yıl 3-4 Kasım 2018 tarihlerinde, ODTÜ Spor Merkezi’nde (ODTÜ Teknokent yanı) gerçekleştirilecek.
Son 10 yıldır Dünya Dans Sporu Federasyonu (WDSF) yarışmalarının Türkiye ayağı olarak düzenlenen kupaya bu yıl 25 ülkeden; minikler, yıldızlar, gençler ve yetişkinler yaş kategorilerinde 400'e yakın sporcu katılacak ve yarışmalar 13 farklı ülkeden hakemlerce değerlendirilecek. Etkinlik kapsamındaki yetişkinler yaş sınıfı yarışmalarına, dünyanın en iyi 50 dans sporcusu listesinde yer alan pek çok çift de katılacak. Bu sayede, 17. ODTÜ Cumhuriyet Kupası, WDSF tarafından belirlenen; katılımcı sayısı, çeşitliliği ve kalitesi kıstaslarına göre dünya genelinde düzenlenen yüzlerce açık sınıf yarışma arasında "en iyi 10 yarışma" arasına girmiş oldu.
Her iki gün de saat 08.30'da ısınmalar ile açılacak olan yarışmada, 09.00-17.00 saatleri arasında gerçekleştirilecek eleme turları ardından, günün en ihtişamlı programı olan Gala Yarışmaları; 3 Kasım Cumartesi günü saat 18.00’de, 4 Kasım Pazar günü saat 19.00'da başlayacak. Cumartesi günü standart danslar (yavaş vals, tango, Viyana valsi, fokstrot, quickstep) yarışmaları, Pazar günü ise Latin dansları (samba, cha cha cha, rumba, paso doble, jive) yarışmaları düzenlenecek. İnternet üzerinden de canlı yayımlanacak gala programlarında Çankaya Belediyesi Hoy-Tur Halk Dansları Topluluğu da koreografisini etkinliğe özel hazırladıkları bir gösteri sunacak.
Etkinlik biletleri ODTÜ Çarşı girişi EDT standında satılmakta olup uzaktan satış ve detaylı bilgi için metuopen.ticket@gmail.com adresi ile bağlantıya geçilebilir. Ayrıca etkinlik günlerinde A1 ve ODTÜ Spor Merkezi kapısında da bilet satışı yapılacak.
Cumhuriyetimizi, ilan edilişinin 95. yılında kurulduğu ilk günkü coşkuyla ve heyecanla kutlamak ve bu coşkuyu dünyanın dört bir yanından gelen sporcular ile paylaşmak için tüm öğrencilerimiz, mensup ve mezunlarımız ODTÜ Spor Merkezi'ne davetlidir.

The 17th of International METU Republic Cup, which is the biggest and the most prestigious dance sport activity of our country, is organized by METU Dance Sport Club every year within the scope of the Republic Week activities, is going to be held at METU Sports Center (next to METU Teknokent) on November 3-4, 2018 this year.
This cup, which have been organized for the past ten years as the Turkey branch of World Dance Sport Federation competitions, will be attended by nearly 400 dancers from 25 different foreign countries and from different age categories such as juvenile, junior, youth, rising star and adult this year and the competitions will be evaluated by the adjudicators from 13 different countries. Many couples taking place in the list of the top 50 dancers of the world is going to take part in the competitions held for adults age category as well. Thus, 17th METU Republic Cup, which was determined by WDSF according to the criterias such as number, diversity and quality of the participants. became one of “the top 10 competitions” among hundreds of open class competitions organized worldwide.
The competition will be opened with warmup practices at 08.30 every day. It will be followed by the elimination rounds between 09.00 and 17.00. Afterwards, the most magnificient program of the day, Gala Competitions will begin at 18.00 on November 3, Saturday and at 19.00 on November 4, Sunday. Competitions for standard dances ( slow waltz, tango, Vienna walts, foxtrot will be held on Saturday. Competitions for Latin dances ( samba, cha cha, rumba, paso doble, jive) will be held on Sunday. In both of the Gala programmes that will be broadcasted live on the internet, Hoy-Tur Folk Dances Group of Çankaya Municipality is going to present a choreography specially prepared for the event.

Our students, members, and graduates are all invited to METU Sports Center to celebrate the 95th year of the proclamation of our Republic Day with the same joy and excitement just like the first day and to share this enthusiasm with the dancers coming from all over the world.
