Elginkan Vakfı 2020 yılı Türk Kültürü Araştırma Ödülü ve Teknoloji Ödülü sahipleri açıklandı. ODTÜ’den üç öğretim üyesi, bu yıl 15’inci kez verilen Teknoloji Ödülü’ne hak kazandı.
Elektrik ve Elektronik Mühendisliği Bölümü’nden Prof. Dr. Haluk Külah, biyomedikal uygulamalara yönelik mikrosistemler (BiyoMEMS) ile ilgili çalışmalarıyla ödül alırken, Metalurji ve Malzeme Mühendisliği Bölümü’nden Prof. Dr. Hüsnü Emrah Ünalan, metal nano teknolojisi ve endüstriyel uygulamalarıyla ilgili çalışmaları nedeniyle ödüle layık görüldü. Biyolojik Bilimler Bölümü’nden Prof. Dr. Mayda Gürsel ise doğal bağışıklık sistemi alanındaki çalışmalarıyla Elginkan Vakfı Teknoloji Ödülü’ne sahip oldu.
Yeni ürün veya yeni teknik ya da teknolojiye dayalı üretim süreçleri geliştirerek teknolojiye gerçek anlamda katkıda bulunan araştırmacı veya araştırmacı grubuna verilen Elginkan Teknoloji Ödülleri için çalışmanın bilimsel ve teknolojik içeriği, yerel ve küresel ölçekteki innovasyon boyutu, özgünlüğü, güncelliği gibi unsurlar değerlendiriliyor.
Elginkan Vakfı Türk Kültürü Araştırma ve Teknoloji Ödülleri Hakkında
Türkiye’deki bilim, kültür ve sanat alanlarında yapılan çalışmalara, araştırmalara ve hizmetlere katkıda bulunmak, bu alanların gelişimine destek olmak, bu çalışma, araştırma ve hizmetlerin yürütücülerinin bilim ve kültür dünyasına yapmış oldukları hizmetleri takdir etmek amacıyla 2006 yılından bu yana veriliyor.
The winners of the Elginkan Foundation 2020 Turkish Culture, Research and Technology Awards have been announced. Three faculty members from METU were selected for the Technology Award Program, which has recognized outstanding technological efforts for the past 15 years.
The recipients of this prestigious award were Prof. Dr. Haluk Külah from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering for his work on microsystems (BioMEMS) for biomedical applications; Prof. Dr. Hüsnü Emrah Ünalan from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering for his work on metal nano technology and its industrial applications, and Prof. Dr. Mayda Gürsel from the Department of Biological Sciences for her work on the immune system.
Awarded to a researcher/researcher group that makes a unique contribution to technology in terms of techniques, products and innovative technology-based production processes, the Elginkan Technology Award Program considers aspects such as the scientific and technological content of the work, the innovation dimension at a local and global scale and originality.

The
Turkish Culture, Research and Technology Awards have been given since 2006 by the
Elginkan Foundation to contribute to studies and research activities in the
fields of science, culture and art in Turkey to support the development of
these fields and to recognize the contributions made by the coordinators of
such studies and research activities to the world of science and culture.
